Material Practices corresponds to an early stage of my artistic practice, centered on the direct exploration of textile materiality. In this series, the work seeks to understand matter through tactile, manual, and process-based approaches, incorporating raw, organic, and biodegradable fibers, as well as textile and non-woven techniques.

The research unfolds through the study of ancestral and traditional processes, experimentation with spinning, knotting, and the use of thread as both a continuous and discontinuous filament. These practices extend the visual realm toward a bodily and sensory experience, where matter is understood through the act of making.

Material Practices marks the beginning of my engagement with matter, time, and gesture, establishing the methodological foundations that continue to inform my subsequent work.

Prácticas Matéricas corresponde a una etapa temprana de mi práctica, centrada en la exploración directa de la materialidad del textil. En esta serie, el trabajo se orienta a comprender la materia desde lo táctil, lo manual y lo procesual, incorporando fibras crudas, orgánicas y biodegradables, así como técnicas textiles y no tejidas.

La investigación se desarrolla a través del aprendizaje de procesos ancestrales y tradicionales, la experimentación con la hilatura, el anudado y el trabajo del hilo como filamento continuo y discontinuo. Estas prácticas permiten extender lo puramente visual hacia una experiencia corporal y sensorial, donde la materia se conoce a través del hacer.

Prácticas Matéricas constituye el origen de mi relación con la materia, el tiempo y el gesto, estableciendo las bases metodológicas que atraviesan mi trabajo posterior.
